black is beautiful

If you know me, I wear BLACK.
It's a no brainier for me. I think it started from when I lived in Greenwich “the” Village in the 80’s. Working in the antique boutiques, we all wore black, from head to toe. BLACK is the uniform for retail fashion. As long as I remember, the best outfits I found were from, the late great, Gianni Versace and Alexander McQueen. Dolce & Gabbana and especially PRADA, black!
I live in Southern California and not a lot of people wear black, but I do. I don't wear the designer black suits anymore, I'm not working retail and my lifestyle is an on the go mom.
I like a diverse wardrobe, it can be exciting to see someone change their style from trend to trend, but I mostly appreciate someone who has a certain look about them, it's their personal signature. They might slide the tiniest detail of the latest trend into what they're wearing, but they don't fall too hard for it.
Coco Chanel, Donna Karan, Diane Von Furstenberg, and Ralph Lauren all have or had a signature style, and their iconic look has stood the test of time.
What is your signature look? Find one, play it up and make it yours.
Black is my signature, it will always be.
I wear soft black t-shirts, black jeans, shoes and purses. In the evening I wear a black blouse, and when the weather permits, I love black leather pants.
On special occasions, you cannot go wrong with the little black dress.
Don't get me wrong I do love color, white and blue jean!
It's summer now in California and black is not the wisest choice for the daytime, so I guess I'll just come out when the sun goes down and when BLACK is great for any evening.
*In the middle of summer, the fall collection comes out, my favorite season.
